Microsoft is serious when it comes to designing their products, and hardware wise they usually get it right when they try hard enough (just look at the new Surface Pro 3). Above is a glimpse of what went into the process of designing the Xbox One… A mountain of 3-D printed possible designs and ideas (some of them are pretty insane – check out the weird egg on the top right).

To get to the final look of the XBox one Microsoft went through 75 console designs, 100s of Kinect designs and over 200 controller designs; which apparently cost the team more than $100 Million in redesigning and  engineering costs. Talk about dedication to the job.
