standard New Update Available for Windows Phone Developer Preview (Build 8.10.14176 ), Enables WP 8.1 Update for HTC 8S/8X

DSC05343After officially releasing Update 1 for WP 8.1 to the Lumia 930 earlier this week, Microsoft have now released a new update for the developer preview program. This latest update (Build 8.10.14176) brings a bunch of (unspecified) fixes and changes, as well as a fix for the 80188308 error which prevented some users from being able to update their phones.

Build 8.10.14176 starts rolling today to developer preview participants, and provides a bunch of performance improvements and general fixes. One of the important fixes addresses an issue some folks were seeing during the update process – the 80188308 error – which resulted from running out of storage space in the system partition during update. We expect this fix to solve the update issue for most users.

Today’s update also enables older HTC phones, the HTC 8X and 8S to update to WP 8.1, as these devices were originally slated to sit the update out, due to some support issues.

You can get the update (if you’re enrolled in the developer program) by heading to settings  > Phone Updates and check for update.

Anyone downloaded it yet? See any noticeable changes?

Got it on my 1020 and 520… Both already had Cyan and Update 1… Can’t see any major changes, but they do seem a tad more responsive!

I also receive the update this morning on my L1320, but the phone got stuck on cogwheel screen :(
I had to leave the phone home, but I will see what I can do when I get back from work.

I’ll comment to here with unbelievable optimism that someone will answer:
I enabled developer preview on my Lumia 820 and after second 8.1 version (not 8.1 update 1) I turned it off as I wanted to return to official version(s). It turned out I never got the Cyan update and I naturally won’t see this update as I have developer preview off.
Does anyone here know if I have to wait for Lumia Denim until my poor phone gets her update or is there some version still coming?

    • Well Microsoft have begun rolling out cyan tk more and more devices. So I wouldn’t lose hope that your phone will get the update, especially since cyan is a pre-requisite for denim.

Also Microsoft have begun officially rolling out update one (to the 930), so I’d give it a few weeks and hope you get cyan, then perhaps update one packaged with denim.
