standard Microsoft Research labs Showcase Transparent, Flexible Smart Cover for the Surface

Microsoft new technology labs are hard at work looking at new ways to help us interact with our devices. The latest of which is a new transparent, flexible (like a sheet of paper) thin cover for the surface; which allows users a number of new ways to interact with their device.

The cover responds to bending, flipping and folding by allowing the user different options such as “peeking behind the scenes”, or “flipping back and forth”, as well as a number of other input methods.

It’s a pretty interesting concept, and although it’s unlikely we’ll see this come to market; perhaps it’ll open the way to new technologies that we’ll actually use.
