Today Microsoft announced the first true Microsoft Lumia, although they’ve overseen the release of the Lumia 530, 630, 730, 830 and 930 those were remenants of the Nokia era. The lumia 535 has the Microsoft name on the front and the back, with Nokia nowhere to be seen.
Microsoft have also broken the price barrier, by introducing 1Gb of ram and 5″ screen with the Lumia 535, effectively killing the Lumia 630 lineup. The 535 also comes with a front facing camera, auto-brightness sensor and an LED flash, all features that previous 5 series devices lacked. The Lumia 535 also comes with an impressive 5 MP front facing camera, similar to the one available in the Lumia 730/735, bringing those impressive selfies to an even lower price point.
The Lumia 535 as other budget end Lumias , is available in both dual sim and single sim variants, starting this month at $130 (110 Euros). The Lumia 535 will be available in Asian markets, expanding to Russia and the Middle East in the coming months.
The Lumia 535 is the first Lumia to debut with a qHD display (960 x 540), an improvement over the 480p screens they’ve been using in the Lumia 5xx and 6xx for the past two years, although it does fall short of the Lumia 730’s 720p screen. All in all quite an impressive package from Microsoft.
