standard HTC’s Next Flagship “Hima” Rumored to Come in Windows Phone Flavor too.

Nokia HTCWhen HTC Launched the HTC one M8 this year, they followed it up a couple of months later with the M8 for Windows; an exact replica of the Android version, except it ran Windows Phone. Now according to some rumors by @upleaks, HTC might do the same with its upcoming flagship codenamed “Hima”.

The device is rumored to come with a 5.0″ 1080p display and Snapdragon 810 chip, along with an Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB or RAM, all of which would add up to very solid specs for Windows Phone devices, and possibly what some would call “Overkill”, but we’re not complaining.

What do you guys think? Is HTC taking the easy way out by simply slapping WP on their pre-existing Android devices? Does it really matter as long as the end result is good?

It will be interesting to see how the Windows Phone will handle the big.LITTLE architecture.

I say go for it. Puts fire under MS and the Lumia brand, entices Samsung to do the same (hopefully the next ATIV is just the next Galaxy variant)

I’m fine if manufacturers use the same hardware for both Android and Windows. What I’m not fine with is if they bring out the Android version and then a few months later bring out the Windows version. By that time the hardware isn’t new. It’s like they are giving Android a head start and then giving Windows the leftovers. Windows is already a harder sell and releasing it later makes it even harder.
