Fueled by the news of Nokia’s acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent earlier this week, recode.net now claims that they’ve heard word of Nokia’s smartphone strategy. According to their sources Nokia plans on releasing a new smartphone by 2016, as well as some exciting virtual reality related technology.
As early as next year, the company aims to rejoin the phone market, two sources briefed on Nokia’s plans told Re/code. In addition, the company has a number of other ambitious technology projects, including some in the virtual reality arena, these sources said.
Although Nokia are bound by contract not to make any smartphones till the fourth quarter of 2016, they already found a work-around to get the N1 tablet into the market when no-one suspected it. After-all everyone loves a comeback right?
