standard Uber Bids $3 Billion to Purchase Nokia’s Mapping Division

Here DriveAs the race to see who will acquire Nokia’s HERE Maps division heats up, recent reports suggest that ride sharing service Uber is willing to pay as much as $3 Billion for the division. Currently a collection of German car manufacturers, including Audi, Mercedes Benz and BMW are also placing bids for the service, while teaming up with Chinese search giant Baidu in their bid.

Although both Nokia and Uber have declined to comment, it’s speculated that Nokia will make its decision by the end of this month, but till then we can probably expect to see a few more companies publicly (or privately) announce a bid to purchase the division.
