standard Amazon Introduces “Amazon Underground”, Offering $10,000 in Free Apps and Games

Screenshot at 20-10-15Today Amazon have announced a new feature called “Amaz0n Underground”, which is a new Amazon app for Android that gives users access to over $10,000 in free apps and games, completely removing all in app purchases (and presumably ads as well). The way this works is that Amazon instead will pay app developers directly depending how long users use the app for (per minute basis).

Apps that are completely free of in-app purchases have a banner on the icon stating “actually free”, giving users a quick way to identify. More interesting however is that it doesn’t seem to require a Prime subscription to access the Amazon Underground apps, making these apps available to all Android users.

To get the Amazon Underground marketplace simply head to www.Amazon.com/underground on your phone and download the install APK.
