standard Instagram Ditches the Square, Adds Portrait and Landscape Support

tumblr_inline_ntpl4jmVAb1qm4rc3_540tumblr_inline_ntpl4x6QPA1qm4rc3_540Since it launched, Instagram has become synonymous with square photos, forcing users to crop or add ugly lines above or on either sides of their photos to make them fit. Now those days are no more as Instagram have announced that they will now support landscape and portrait photos and videos, allowing users to be more artistic and creative in their shots, without ruining them with an ugly black bar.

The latest update also brings the same filters for both videos and photos, allowing even more people to life about their #NoFilter. The update has already rolled out to the iOS and Android versions of the app, while the Windows Phone Beta most likely won’t be seeing this feature anytime soon.
